Herrnhut stars
Created over 160 years ago in the bosom of the Moravian Church, the Moravian star is regarded as the origin of all poinsettias.
At the beginning of the 19th century, the first star made of paper and cardboard shone in the boarding school rooms of the Moravian Church. Conceived by an educator in a math class, it served to convey a better understanding of geometry. From then on, the children made their stars on the 1st Sunday in Advent and carried this custom into their families.
To this day, it is a beautiful tradition to start the contemplative Christmas season with a Herrnhut star.
